Why did I receive a message from Beagle?+
Beagle works with property managers to verify residents' insurance and administer resident programs. A notice may mean that current proof of insurance is missing or that a policy has changed. Your leasing office can confirm whether Beagle manages this process for your property.
I already have insurance. Why didn't it verify?+
Check that you uploaded the complete declarations page, your name and rental address match, your policy is active, and the liability limit meets your lease requirements. The interested-party name and address must also match your notice. Ask your insurer to correct any missing details, then upload the updated document using your notice's verification link.
Why do I need to add an interested party?+
An interested party receives notices about changes to your policy, such as cancellation or a lapse. This helps your property manager confirm that your coverage stays current. Ask your insurer to add an Additional Interested Party using the exact name and address in your notice, then upload the updated declarations page. An interested party is different from an additional insured.
I uploaded my policy. What happens next?+
Your documents are reviewed against your property's requirements. Check your verification status after submitting. If it has not updated after a couple of business days, contact Resident Support with your submission date, name, rental address, and property management company. Uploading a document by itself does not confirm that it has been accepted.
Why am I being charged if I have my own insurance?+
Your property may enroll you in a liability waiver program when qualifying proof of insurance is not on file, according to your lease and program terms. Submit your current policy through the verification link. If you still see a charge after verification, contact Resident Support so we can review your enrollment and billing with you. Your notice and lease specify the amount and applicable dates.
Can previous charges be refunded?+
Refunds are reviewed case by case. Contact Resident Support with the months in question and documents showing qualifying coverage during that period. The team will review your account and explain the outcome; a refund is not automatic.
Is the liability waiver the same as renters insurance?+
No. A tenant liability waiver addresses specified responsibilities to your landlord under your lease and program terms. A personal renters insurance policy is a separate contract with your insurer. Protection for belongings, additional living expenses, and other benefits depends on the program you are enrolled in. Check your enrollment documents or ask Resident Support what is included before making changes to your own insurance.
Where can I find my coverage documents?+
For a Beagle program, contact Resident Support for your enrollment confirmation and applicable documents. For your own renters insurance, get your declarations page and policy number from your insurer's app, website, or support team.
What if my policy renews, changes, or is canceled?+
Contact your insurer to confirm your policy's status. After renewing or replacing it, upload the updated declarations page through your verification link. Make sure the dates, liability amount, rental address, and interested-party details still meet your property's requirements.
How can I use my own insurance instead?+
Submit a qualifying renters insurance policy using the link in your notice. Once it is verified, Resident Support can confirm the change to your program enrollment and the applicable billing dates. Your lease and program terms determine the requirements.
How do I file or follow up on a claim?+
Contact your property manager to start a claim under your Beagle program. For questions or follow-up, contact Maverick Claims at claims@maverickclaims.com for tenant liability (TLL), or tenantadvocacy@maverickclaims.com for security deposit (SDI) and pet damage. You can also call 985-200-4522. Include your claim number if you have one. For claims under your own renters insurance policy, contact your insurer directly.
