A move-in concierge helps residents coordinate utility and internet setup. It can make the handoff clearer, but provider availability, resident authorization and installation dates still matter. Keep one staff contact for setup problems that remain unresolved.
What Is a Move-In Concierge Service?
The service’s scope depends on the selected provider and package. Beagle’s Renters Kit includes an available option for utility and internet coordination; confirm activation steps and resident support before advertising it.
- Utilities (electricity, gas, water, trash)
- Internet & cable installation
Give residents one checklist with required services, account responsibility, target start dates and contact details. Tell them which steps they must complete and which confirmations management needs.
How a Move-In Concierge Service Simplifies Onboarding
1. Coordinate Utility Activation
For each utility, identify whether the resident or property holds the account and whether a transfer or new connection is needed.
- Obtain resident authorization before contacting a provider or sharing information on their behalf.
- Request service for the correct address and move-in date, then confirm acceptance; a request is not an activated account.
- Record confirmation and any unresolved deposit, identity-verification or scheduling requirement.
Have a fallback contact for a delayed connection. Do not promise that every service will be active before arrival.
2. Arrange Internet and Cable Installation
Help residents compare available plans, total costs, speeds, equipment charges and installation requirements. Record any promotional period and the price afterward.
- Confirm service availability at the exact unit address.
- Arrange installation with the resident and property access rules; availability may require a later appointment.
- Confirm who supplies equipment, how it is collected and what activation the resident must complete.
Disclose any referral relationship and let residents ask about other available choices. A concierge should not imply that a quoted plan is the cheapest without a comparison.
Keep Insurance and Deposits in Their Own Workflows
If the lease requires insurance evidence, explain the review contact, requirements and acceptance process separately. A utility concierge does not itself prove coverage is accepted.
Explain any deposit alternative using its own agreement and fees. Concierge coordination does not establish deposit protection or remove a resident’s damage obligations.
Close the Move-In Loop
Use a short handoff check: Are required utilities confirmed? Is internet installed or scheduled? Does the resident know how to report a setup problem? Is management holding only the information it needs?
Measure the Service Before Expanding
Compare unresolved activations, repeat setup questions, staff time and resident feedback against your own move-in baseline. The service may reduce repeated explanations, but no specific time saving or renewal result is established here.
Before offering the service, confirm costs, provider coverage, resident authorization, activation duties and escalation contacts. Beagle’s available concierge option should be described according to the selected proposal.
